Day 24 – Vellar de Mazarife

Maybe the best way to represent today’s walk.

It rained from 8:30am when I stepped out of the alburgue in Peunte de Castro until about 2:00pm when I checked in at my current albergue in Villarreal de Mazarife.

This village is described as “pilgrim friendly” but the rainstorm seemed to have taken out the water system for the whole town.   About two hours later it came back and there is a rush for the showers.   I’ll wait in the bar and stink until the crowd thins.

To me, a “bodega” is a small store that specializes in Latino foods.

In Spain, a bodega is a wine storage cellar built into the side of a hill.

Yet another shoe shrine.  This is actually a fairly new pair of Salomons (not my size).   I’m going to get to the bottom of this meme.

But first,  time to hit the showers.

Buen Camino,
