Day 29 – Trabadelo

Obtuse   əbˈtjuːs

Adjective – Annoyingly insensitive or slow to understand.

I’ve spent 29 days wandering along this centuries-old path, marveling at its preservation of antiquity alongside of modernity.
I pay respect to the spanish traditions while acknowledging that Spain is in many ways more contemporary than my home.

This strange juxtaposition without apparent consequence telegraphs some subtle message that my mental tuner just cannot decode.

Dinner tonight was with a Croatian woman, a German man, and the alburgue hosts: a Spanish man and his Australian woman partner.

The menu included Lettuce soup(surprisingly tasty), sautéed tomato & bread casserole (better than it sounds), green salad, and pesto pasta.   The vegetables came out of the garden in the back of the alburgue. There were a lot of carbs because tomorrow’s walk will have some big hills to climb.

The Camino provides lots of short term company.  Tomorrow we all go on our way again.

Buen Camino,
