Day 4 – Villava

Today’s walk was mostly on level dirt and gravel path through trees alongside the river Alba. 

Lots of farmland and pastures.   Every few kilometers it would happen upon a small hamlet or town with a medieval chapel or bridge. 

Don’t know the story about the above church but it looked abandoned. 

The Abbey of Eskirotz & Ilarratz below has been bought by a group of pilgrims and are trying to restore it to its 3th century form. 

Huge mural on wall next to outside BBQ below depicts a traditional dancer and some royalty. 

Tomorrow I enter Pamplona for some sightseeing and to purchase a SIM card for my phone and then onward to spend the night in a smaller, less crowded town.
