My Last Speech with CTM
During my tenure as IT Manager at the Ash Center at Harvard’s Kennedy School, I was an active member of the Crimson Toastmasters club. I served as an active member, participating in bi-weekly meetings and regional speech and evaluation contests. Occasionally, I even made speeches to the club.
Below is a video of my last speech prior to leaving the club to move out west. The speech topic was on “Assertiveness”. While far from a model of professional public speaking (this point was not lost on the speech evaluator’s report), it does represent a significant increase in comfort level when standing in front of an audience compared to when I started Toastmasters.
(Some YouTube video editing still in process. Viewing quality may improve over time.)
I may get involved with Toastmasters again sometime. It was a fun and educational experience.
